“CompTIA Security+ is a global certification that validates the baseline skills necessary to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career.” – CompTIA
So I registered for the CompTIA Security+ 501 exam today to test in a few days. I prepared a good deal last fall (2020) but became busy. For those who don’t know, CompTIA is changing the classification of the test or version of the test from 501 to 601, and as of this July 31st, 2021, the 501 will be retired. Not to say that the certification will be no longer valid but that the 601 test has a whole set of changes in the test criteria to pass.
Because I have already been studying for the 501, I am concentrating on studying for the 501 with even more focus as the time ticks. I am currently studying with Professor Messer @ https://professormesser.link/sy0501. He is an excellent resource for a few of the CompTIA certifications. Do check him out! He is updating content for the SY0-601also!
I already have a CompTIA A+, Net+ and the CompTIA CIOS Stackable Certification. This is exciting!
