A “Cristy Davis ” Powerball Donation Lottery Scam

I Googled this text message / SMS I just received today. Wondering what this was all about, and smelled a scam, and sure enough, it was after some quick checks. This scam started to be reported back in March 2021, maybe earlier. The scam persisted and was updated in Sept of last year in things I found. So this is still an ongoing scam as of today! Don’t fall for smishing!

Lottery scammers are using several social media and email scams like the one below to impersonate Cristy Davis to obtain personal financial information and money from potential victims. Cristy Davis will never ask you to share your financial information electronically. If you have received duplicate emails, please delete them or social media messages when you receive them. Cristy Davis, a Michigan state Lotto player who won $70 Million in the Powerball, will never ask you to send money to receive a donation from her. There are other cases of that do, so beware. This scam has been ongoing for at least two years, and the amount that “she” claims to have won has also changed in this case; this particular scam is not asking for money.

I knew something was not right. Remember, once you are asked to send money to receive a donation or lottery prize, it is scammers or thieves attempt to trick you into sending them your money or revealing your personal information.

I briefly wrote an article about this because “Smishing” is real, and innocent people fall for it.

Here are some additional pieces of evidence of how this scam is going. Sometimes the “lucky winners” amount of money they will receive changes in dollars, and the states this money winners will be chosen from. The contact number origination you received the text from is different than whom you were told to contact…

I received this just today:

Other research evidence supports this scam, and I wanted to warn people.

A video I posted below said at the time she won, in February of 2020, they were living paycheck to paycheck. They went on to purchase a new house and cars, and it would appear that she went from Ms. Davis to Mrs. Davis and married within the year after she won. It sounds like she has a large family and would instead give it to her family and enjoy a “normal people’s life.”

Why, then, would she donate all of this money to strangers?! Shit, Elon Musk has more money than he knows what to do with. Is he texting you saying, “do you want some money?” I have extra!

Christy Davis Lotto give away scam

This is the “real” winner, so someone is taking advantage of her, and you if you fall for it! Be careful!

If you win, don’t announce it to ANYONE! You will find you have old friends, a family you don’t know about or have not talked to in years, or children you are being accused of siring… And don’t go on a spending spree.
