I am very impressed with the configuration of Crontab jobs to take care of my system automation for my XMR / Monero farm. I wanted to move/relocate my server rack, which hosts most of my XMR / Monmero mining “rigs,” to another room for quiet and not overheated as the room was getting hot due to how many “rigs” I have.
Zbi – Zbiyadek Sendenk of MyBestHandyman.net helped me with the idea, move, plan, and execution. My main living area is now much more quiet!
21 Rigs, and I am working on 3 more, so overall 24 XMR Monero Raspberry Pi’s, and VMWare virtual servers runnning on HP DL 380;s. Quite impressive if I say so myself. This is an interesting application of my technology to “earn” coin, but its sort of becoming questionable. If the price of XMR goes up, and I keep mining the coins, it might be worth this. However, it has been a learning experiece the entire time, which is priceless.
The power outage allowed me to plug the power cord in and wait for each of these to come online. Not all are hosted in the server rack, so this power disruption didn’t knock out “all” of my XMR Rigs, just the majority.
This has been a labor of love to get so many Rigs online, then there was the change from SupportXMR.com to Moneroocean.stream. This required a new XMRIG install from source, and some new configs with a cronjob that will be used with Ansible in the near future to manage this “armada” of miners.
I am happy with their altered Rig and Pool. So I will stick with them. I still have the leading XMR software for SupportXMR.com on the machine, but I don’t think I am going back.
More testing is needed, but I wanted to blog about my experience with this switch or move, hence the update if you are curious about getting involved.
Hive OS is something new I am trying to assist with the mining, and as a new Linux distro I discovered, I am happy with Hive thus far.
